Developed over 80 years ago by Joseph H. Pilates, this isn't just another fade diet or exercise program. Pilates is a low-impact, total body fitness program designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body.
Pilates exercises focus on strengthening the “core” muscles of the abdomen, back and pelvis, while simultaneously conditioning all the other muscle groups.
Exercises can be done on mats on the floor or on specially designed apparatus, such as the reformer, which utilizes additional resistance from pulleys and springs.
